SERVICE ANIMAL POLICY
At Cattastik, we are committed to creating an accessible and welcoming experience for all attendees while also ensuring the safety and well-being of our guests, vendors, volunteers, rescue partners, and cats.
Service Animals Are Welcome
Fully trained service animals are welcome at Cattastik in accordance with applicable laws.
A service animal is a dog that has been individually trained to perform specific tasks for a person with a disability.
Service Animal Requirements
For the safety of all attendees and animals at the event, service dogs must:

Be fully trained and under the handler's control at all times.

Remain leashed, harnessed, or tethered unless the animal's work requires otherwise.

Be housebroken.

Be non-aggressive and well-behaved in crowded public environments.

Not interfere with rescue animals, vendors, performers, attendees, or event operations.
Handlers are responsible for the care, supervision, and behavior of their service animals at all times.
Removal of a Service Animal
A service animal may be required to leave the event if:

The animal is out of control and the handler does not take effective action to control it.

The animal displays aggressive, threatening, or disruptive behavior.

The animal repeatedly barks, lunges, growls, or otherwise creates a safety concern.

The animal is not housebroken.
-
The animal poses a direct threat to the health or safety of others.
If a service animal must be removed for any of the reasons above, the handler may also be asked to leave the event. No refunds will be issued in these situations.
These measures are necessary to protect attendees, staff, volunteers, the adoptable cats participating in the event, and attendee-owned cats.
Attendee Cats Are Welcome
Cattastik is also pleased to welcome cats brought from home by attendees.
Attendee cats are not service animals and are subject to our separate Bringing Your Cat to Cattastik Guidelines.
Cats brought to the convention must be properly contained or securely leashed/harnessed and under their owner's control at all times.
If you plan to bring your cat, please review the cat-specific guidelines before attending.
Other Animals
Cattastik does not permit pets or animals other than cats and fully trained service dogs.
This includes:

Pets of other species
This policy helps us maintain a safe and comfortable environment for the cats attending Cattastik.
