CATTASTIK CODE OF CONDUCT

Cattastik is a family-friendly cat convention celebrating cats, spooky culture, creativity, and community. We are committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for attendees, vendors, performers, volunteers, rescue partners, and staff.

By attending Cattastik, you agree to help us create a positive environment where everyone feels comfortable and respected.

Expected Behavior

We ask all attendees to:

Treat others with kindness, courtesy, and respect.
Respect personal space and boundaries.
Follow directions from event staff, volunteers, venue personnel, and rescue representatives.
Help us maintain a safe and welcoming atmosphere for guests of all ages.
Respect the health, safety, and well-being of all animals participating in the event.
Be considerate of vendors, exhibitors, performers, and fellow attendees.
Obtain permission before taking close-up photos of individuals, costumes, booths, or displays when appropriate.

Cats at Cattastik

Cattastik welcomes both adoptable rescue cats and cats brought by attendees.

Attendees bringing cats from home are responsible for their cats at all times and must follow our Bringing Your Cat to Cattastik Guidelines.

All attendee cats must be:

Well-behaved and appropriately socialized for a busy public environment.
Properly contained or securely leashed/harnessed at all times.
Under their owner's control at all times.
Handled in a manner that does not interfere with other attendees, animals, vendors, or event operations.

If an attendee's cat becomes aggressive, excessively distressed, repeatedly disruptive, or otherwise creates a safety concern, the owner will be asked to remove the cat from the convention floor.

The safety and well-being of all animals always come first.

Adoptable Rescue Animals

Many of the cats attending Cattastik are rescue animals looking for their forever homes. To help keep them safe and comfortable, attendees are expected to:

Follow all instructions provided by rescue organizations and event staff.
Respect barriers, enclosures, and designated animal areas.
Handle animals only when permitted by rescue representatives.
Avoid behavior that may stress or frighten animals.

Other Animals

Cattastik is a cat-focused event. Animals other than cats are not permitted, with the exception of fully trained service dogs permitted under our Service Animal Policy.

Emotional support animals, therapy animals, and pets of other species are not permitted.

Prohibited Behavior

The following behavior will not be tolerated:

Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or bullying.
Verbal abuse, threats, or aggressive behavior.
Physical altercations or violence.
Sexual harassment or unwanted physical contact.
Disruptive, dangerous, or reckless behavior.
Damage to venue property, vendor merchandise, exhibits, or event equipment.
Interference with rescue animals or rescue operations.
Bringing unauthorized animals into the event.
Possession of weapons, including prop or costume weapons.
Possession of illegal substances.
Excessive intoxication or disorderly conduct.
Failure to comply with instructions from event staff, volunteers, venue personnel, or rescue representatives.

Photography & Media

Photography and video recording are permitted throughout much of the event. Please be respectful of fellow attendees, vendors, performers, and rescue organizations when taking photos.

By attending Cattastik, you acknowledge that photographs and video may be taken by event staff, media representatives, photographers, and videographers for promotional, marketing, and archival purposes.

Families & Children

Cattastik is a family-friendly event. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children in their care at all times.

If you become separated from your child, please notify event staff immediately so we can assist.

Reporting Concerns

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please notify an event staff member, volunteer, or organizer as soon as possible.

We take concerns seriously and will work to address issues promptly and appropriately.

Enforcement

Anyone who violates this Code of Conduct, event policies, or venue rules may be subject to corrective action, including removal from the event without refund.

Cattastik reserves the right to deny admission or remove any individual whose behavior is deemed unsafe, disruptive, unlawful, or inconsistent with the spirit of the event.
